| Nocdar | "He has never been known to use a word that might send a reader to the dictionary." ~ William Faulkner (about Ernest Hemingway) | | |
| Capitalist_Pig | We all have moments of self doubt. You can't let it get to you. Think more about why you write and why it's important to you. What are your goals? What is it you really love about writing? All of these things are so much more important than the 'maybe' of failure. Even if you do fail, which is a big maybe, what would that mean? Come to think of it, what is failure? Would you be a failure if you were a bad writer? If you didn't publish? If you published but no one bought your book? If everyone bought your book but the critics panned you? If the critics loved you but you didn't win the awards? The only one who can judge whether or not you are a failure is yourself. Don't write thinking about the opinions of others, the maybes, the scary outcome. For me, the biggest failure would be if I wanted to write but I didn't because I was afraid. That's failure. - Jai Joshi | | |
